These are challenging times for the city; the impact of the recession continues to be felt locally and cuts in public spending means that our communities and local businesses need and expect our support more than ever.

In anticipation of these challenges we have introduced the 'Sunderland Way of Working', a far reaching programme designed to deliver a step change in how we deliver public services whilst enhancing our role as community leader and delivering better outcomes for individuals and communities. You will play a leading role in contributing to this agenda, and your individual skills, experience and ideas will complement and enhance the wide range of skills, knowledge and experience within the organisation.

You will be working in the newly created Streetscene Service, responsible for delivering key frontline services and developing key infrastructure that will be critical to the City’s success. The Service is already putting the Sunderland Way of Working into practice - listening to our customers and making sure we are delivering their needs and priorities.

Our city has a strong  heritage, offers great potential and combines a vibrant, culturally diverse centre with acres of green space, award winning parks and nature reserves as well as a stunning coastline.
